The Enthusiastic Pharmacist

Hello my name is Brendan and I am the creator of "TheEnthusiasticPharmacist.com". I will explain why I decided to create this website. Ever since I first started my Masters of Pharmacy degree I have always been enthusiastic about the world of pharmacy. When I was a second year pharmacy student I attended the 69th British Pharmaceutical Students’ Association (BPSA) Annual Conference (AC) at the University of Portsmouth. The whole experience was excellent and I just could not get enough. So I attended then next BPSA AC, the one the following year and the next one after that etc… You see where this is going, until I finally took on the challenge of the position of the European Officer (EO) of the BPSA 2013-2014. Fulfilling the role as the European officer on top of my pre-registration year was not an easy task but I have to say that it was the best experience of my life. I got to represent the BPSA at several pharmacy conferences and congresses across Europe, promote these events to students, I met loads of inspirational people and learned a ridiculous amount about the world of pharmacy. As I result of this I have come to realise that there are all these brilliant pharmacy organisations and associations all around the world, these host fantastic events for their members, however lots of people (pharmacy students especially) don`t know about them. It is my hope to share my experiences with people so they can learn: from what I have done, what events I have attended and what organisations and associations I have become involved in. Ultimately I would like to encourage more pharmacist to get involved in their profession. In time I hope that others will use this platform to share their own experiences and ideas as well.
