The Five Turrets

The Five Turrets is a stylish holiday rental property in Selkirk at the heart of the beautiful Scottish Borders. Named by The Sunday Times as one of the 25 best holiday cottages in the UK for 2019, it couples fairytale castle good looks on the outside with a riot of colour and high-end accommodation inside. The house comfortable sleeps eight people in four bedrooms, all furnished and fitted out to the highest standards. The heart of the home is the unique triple height living space, with sofas arranged around a fabulous wood burning stove, a huge dining table set up to provide commanding views of the hills across the stunning Ettrick valley and an open kitchen to captivate the keenest cook. The mezzanine library is stocked with hundreds of books and more sofas set around the smart TV connected to the free superfast broadband available in every room. Bedrooms feature award-winning Casper mattresses and Egyptian cotton sheets. There are two bathrooms, one with a walk-in shower and the other with shower over bath, both equipped with powerful rain forest showers. Bespoke packages include a personal chef and gin tastings. The Borders offers world-class cycling (with secure bike storage on site), sensational scenery and some of the best hillwalking in Scotland. There's horse riding, fishing on the Tweed and golf at some great Scottish courses. Wildlife too - golden eagles, ospreys, red squirrels to name a few. It's a lovely place for families: climb and zip wire through the trees at the nearby Go Ape, fly birds of prey in the Kielder forest or whizz down a hillside on a grass sledge. The region is steeped in history. Home to the notorious Border Reivers, it later served as a base for Scottish hero William Wallace.
