The Future Group

Future Group was established in 2010 in Inverness under the former name Future Communications by Fraser Mackenzie, Norman Thomson, John Beaton and Paula Mackay who remain with Future Group as Directors. Delivering structured cabling services in various industry sectors across the North of Scotland for the public and private sectors, Future Group diversified into new markets with a focus on emerging technologies and services. Experts in network infrastructure, wireless systems, telephony and satellite systems, Future Group have expanded to include additional services in the design, delivery, management and support of integrated network solutions from enterprise Local Area Networks (LAN) and wireless solutions, to city-wide fibre infrastructure and public Wi-Fi. In 2015 the management identified an area within the market to add asbestos surveying resources to its current service list. The Asbestos Division now provide UKAS accredited and quality assured refurbishment, demolition & management surveying provision for industrial, commercial and domestic properties. Organic growth of the Asbestos Division has allowed the company to add additional services including analysis, air testing, remedial works, re-inspections and non-licensed removals as well as becoming the only registered IATP training provider in the North of Scotland. With the demand for the rollout of next generation broadband, Future Group formed a Division specifically trained and qualified to deliver the Openreach – Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK) project across the North of Scotland. The BDUK project is one the largest civil engineering projects undertaken in the UK and includes deployment of fibre optic cabling both overhead and underground as well as civils and groundworks in both urban and rural locations, including island communities. The urban elements involve the careful management of traffic and pedestrians in busy commercial and residential environments.
