The Gateway Tour

Established in 2001, Gateway Pro Tour was created to help aspiring PGA TOUR professionals fine-tune their skills in competitive golf tournaments. Since its inception, the Tour has maintained a leading position as the premier developmental professional golf tour. Today, Gateway continues to provide the ideal competitive environment as well as significant financial opportunities for aspiring PGA and Nationwide Tour professionals. Over the past nine years, Gateway Pro Tour has become a defining force in developmental tour golf. Growing from a 14-tournament tour, Gateway’s recognition was further enhanced by the absorption of the Golden Bear Tour in 2005. The Tour has served over 3,300 players, with 127 former Gateway players currently having status on the PGA and Nationwide Tours. Gateway has paid out over $40 million in prize money to its players in its nine-plus seasons, becoming well-known for the depth of its talent, and furthermore, the quality of its tournaments. The Tour continually strives to improve its operations and attract the best fields of those not playing on the Nationwide and PGA Tours. This means the Tour will continue to grow and improve, continue to uphold its stellar reputation for operating first class professional golf tournaments, and continue to evolve to fit its players’ needs in the best way possible.
