The Good Room
The Good Room is a live entertainment show based on the Irish traditional home. The good room or Parlor was a particular room in Irish homes used only on very special occasions - if the priest visited, laying out wedding gifts, meeting the future son/daughter in law. Usually decorated with a sacred heart, pictures of JFK, Pope John Paul II or family photos, The Good Room was kept pristine at all times and on occasion chairs and couches remained covered in plastic or cotton flour bags to prevent any spills while in The Good Room! The Good Room is a show with a mix of music, “doing a turn”, comedy, interviews, games and literary readings. It brings people of all walks of life together in a comfortable atmosphere where all can engage, enjoy Irish literature, poetry and music and the craic! The Good Room over the years was also a room that was used to entertain and to share party pieces. We invite our audience and guests to share their stories, songs and party pieces which takes us back to what The Good Room is all about. Sharing, laughing, singing and not winning a prize. It’s about the entertainment!
