The Green Cycle Drive

The Green Cycle Drive has its origins rooted in Dubai, founded by 3 GMA students in 2021 to respond to the challenges posed by environmental degradation to ensure a sustainable and secure future. Under the leadership of Jai Joshi, Irfan Firosh and Raihan Firosh, The Green Cycle Drive spread awareness about climate change to the upcoming generation and empowered young environmentalists to make a difference in their community. Trailblazers in this sector, The Green Cycle Drive quickly built a reputation for serving the environment in a hands-on method, amassing 600 individuals in the participant base in the first year of operations. During this blossoming era, amidst COVID19, Green Cycle Drive successfully organized multiple recycling drives and cleanups in collaboration with students from a multitude of schools in Dubai. The start was the "Karama Recycling Drive" where over of recyclable material was collected and deposited at the Karama Recycling Center. A milestone was a cleanup initiative at the Al Qudra Lakes, an artificial desert oasis, taking a step in the right direction at preserving the beautiful landscape of our planet, which brought together 100+ participants from every corner of the UAE Since 2022, The Green Cycle Drive has been lead by its incumbent Chairman of the Board of Directors, Prasanna Adhithya Balagopal, and his trusted deputy since 2023, Anirudh Puranam, have ensured the growth of this organization from 600 to participants through the conduction of 8 campaigns, recycling another Kg of waste bringing the total contribution to 40+ Tons. The current leadership has also incorporated a Research & Innovation Cell, a Global School of Sustainability and a Social Entrepreneurship Fund. The organization is regionally led by Aadit Ahuja (UAE) and Arjun Subramaniam (Canada). From humble beginnings in 1 school, to now a dozen schools in 2 countries, The Green Cycle Drive is etched in the annals of sustainable history globally.
