The Green Pilgrim
It was founded in 2018 by Zahra Ali Syed, a Karachi-based environmentalist, and today it operates in multiple countries led by local ambassadors. We partner with stakeholders in Iraq including the holy shrines, local government, and tourism agencies to work on policy change in Iraq, while our regional ambassadors mobilize their communities for sustainable behavioral change which collectively brings us closer to the goals of #Plastic_Free_Arbaeen or #Sustainable_Arbaeen.
