The Guild For Lifelong Learning

The Guild for Lifelong Learning is a charitable educational institution, providing lifelong learning opportunities, adult community education and social activities for the welfare of the whole community, registered charity (1151387) and company limited by guarantee (08331345). Based in East Cheshire, we embrace lifelong learning and promote the advancement of education within the heart of our community by delivering high-quality adult education courses and social activities. We provide friendly and enjoyable learning opportunities with the aim of improving the wellbeing of the community, encouraging active citizenship and reducing social isolation. Founded in 1926, The Guild continues to fulfil its original vision:"To provide a centre in which people may find opportunities for the enrichment of life through education, fellowship and co-operative effort for the welfare of the community" The Guild receives over enrolments to more than 500 courses each academic year. Striving to enhance social inclusion and personal development, we are now operating at 14 different locations within East Cheshire including Macclesfield, Stockport and Crewe. With 18 active clubs, groups and societies and the engagement of around participants, we continue our efforts in building stronger, active and inclusive communities.
