The Harder Group

The Harder Group is a development, construction, and property management firm based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Over two decades we’ve established ourselves as thoughtful, innovative partners, responsive and attuned to the history and needs of our community. We started out as Hill Harder, which was founded in 2008 by friends and colleagues Martin Hill and Lauren Harder. Martin and Lauren shared a love of Cambridge’s historic architecture and a vision for preserving and adapting those properties to meet the needs of today’s homeowners. After restoring dozens of Cambridge’s architectural treasures, Lauren set a new course for the company in 2017. Now, The Harder Group represents her vision for the company’s future and its team of expert professionals. Today, in addition to condo developments, The Harder Group transforms Cambridge properties into apartments and manages those homes with a personal touch. We seek out investors who share our goals. With a design-build process in place, we also enjoy taking on single-family custom home building and always treat each project as though it were our own. In every aspect of our work we continue our commitment to beauty, quality, and the preservation of Cambridge’s rich history. Each project we undertake strengthens our bond to neighbors, tenants, and homeowners and enhances the community of which we are a part.
