At the Homemaker, we aim to revive old houses in the St. Louis area. We are a female-run renovations business looking to give a new look to the industry and to area homes. The term homemaker is directed at women who manage a home, but it is limiting. Women are multi-talented, often managing their households, motherhood, a career, and so much more. The average woman who works the same number of hours per week as her male partner takes on an additional 9 hours of work per week as a so-called homemaker. This is equivalent to 3 additional months of a full-time job per year. If women are to be systematically tasked with running a home, there is no one better to recreate those homes than other women who know exactly what they want and need to be successful. Our aspiration is to reclaim the term homemaker and show St. Louis that women have a lot more to offer the world in terms of creating the perfect home.
