The Hunger Project-Uganda

The Hunger Project-Uganda (THP-U) is part of the global Hunger Project (THP), a non-profit, strategic organization committed to the sustainable end of world hunger. Our mission is to facilitate individual and collective action to transform the systems of inequity that create hunger and cause it to persist. To create a world without hunger, we work with rural communities to identify the root causes of hunger in their lives and create community-led action plans to overcome these challenges. This work reaches nearly 12 million people in 13 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. The Hunger Project is committed to long-term development of partnerships with communities and our goal is always self-reliance—meaning that they feel confident and have the capacity and skills to act as agents of their own development. In Uganda, we currently work with about people on sustainable agriculture practices, entrepreneurship, and community-led nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene programs.
