The Ideas College
The Ideas College is an initiative by the Ideas Foundation and is established under the Ideas Foundation Trust. The Ideas Foundation is the brain child of Robin Wight CVO, President of Engine Advertising Group and former Chair of the charity Art & Business, and was launched in 2003 by Lord Puttnam and Sir Mike Tomlinson CBE. The charity is supported by the advertising and communications industries and a small number of charitable trusts. In 2009, the Ideas Foundation embarked on a two-year pilot project, ‘Graft & Glamour’. The project objective was to re-engage young people who are out of school, excluded or disengaged, by using innovative education, creativity and creative industry practices. The pilot project was highly successful but, upon completion, some of the young people returning to school were unable to maintain their motivation and commitment to learn.
