The Insectary

The Insectary was established in July 2019 in to test viability of potato waste as substrate for BSF farming with support from the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE), an insect research institute. Since 2019, The Insectary has evolved to be a commercial scale producer of BSF with an end to end operation that includes a large-scale egg production system and larvae growing operations and a consultancy that empowers farmers to establish successful BSF production systems. The Insectary also provides consulting services, both locally and globally, enabling other farmers and enthusiasts to design, build and operate successful BSF systems.
