JoAnn Tan is a uniquely talented artist known for her 360-degree theory-to-practice approach, masterfully transforming ideas into works of art for everyone. Blurring the line between artist and artisan, Tan is a storyteller who stirs dreams and emotions through unique installations and window displays, showcasing the world's most desirable products. Praised for her manual abilities and artistic sensibilities, Tan established The JoAnn Tan Studio in 2010 and inaugurated her Atelier in 2025, both located in Milan. Paper is her favorite material, which she transforms into 3D objects with remarkable virtuosity and artistry. Her diverse portfolio of clients spans the realms of fashion, design, and lifestyle, including Hermès, Dior, Fendi, Loro Piana, Valextra, La Double J, Globe-Trotter, Ginori 1735, and Acqua di Parma. Committed to sustainability, she ensures that her installations have a minimal environmental impact through cradle-to-grave thinking, eco-friendly materials, and repurposing props. Originally from Kuala Lumpur, Tan studied at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago. Her journey included an impactful and inspiring internship at Moschino, where she crafted whimsical, eye-catching window displays. Over the years, she has honed her skills with one mantra: to create true feasts for the eyes. JoAnn and her team of creative talents work across window displays, installations and set design, adopting a playful approach coupled with a unique relationship with materials and techniques and a strong focus on artisanship. Today, JoAnn Tan Studio works with numerous fashion houses around the world, such as Hermés, Dior, Fendi, Ferragamo and LaDouble J to name a few, but also for the world of design such as Bolon, DePadova and Alessi. Since 2025 she has expanded her Studio creating the new Atelier, where JoAnn's creativity and artistic vision are given full expression.
