The Knarly Knot

From our family to yours The Knarly Knot is a family owned and operated business based in East Texas. We are Allan & Melissa, their son Matt & his wife Esther. After 35 years teaching in public schools, in 2006 Allan & Melissa turned their lifelong love of woodworking and renaissance festivals into The Knarly Knot. Matt's background in Project Management and Research & Development, as well as Esther's background in handmade crafts and bookkeeping paved the way for their 2019 transition from part-time to full-time. Wood cups, bowls and cutting boards are nearly as old as civilization itself. The first ones come before recorded history. Though not directly tied to an historical time or place, our handcrafted items are timeless and suitable for the dining table, campground, Renaissance faire, and Live Action Role Play (LARP). Our wood dinnerware is extremely durable. Our philosophy is "Natural wood, naturally," bringing out the wood grain without any stains or dyes. We have shoppes at Sherwood Renaissance Faire in McDade, TX; Scarborough Renaissance Festival in Waxahatchie (WOK-sə-HA-chee) TX; and Texas Renaissance Festival in Todd Mission, TX. In 2020 we opened an online store, enabling us to provide unique dinnerware for people all over the globe.
