The Layer Collective

The Layer Collective, based in Mumbai, India. is a collective of inter-disciplinary group of people coming together with an initiative of asserting what experience, indulgence, immersion could mean in our society today. It investigates on the growing importance of perceptions, ideologies and psychologies in our culture through internet in variable imaging formats and employs experimental use of digital tools and techniques like augmented reality, virtual reality and mixed reality, to implement modern solutions. Rakesh Ambasana, Akash Rathod and Sudhir Ambasana formed The Layer Collective in 2020 when the world as we knew, compelled mankind to take a brief look at each under a microscopic lens. The collective believes, that the ongoing dynamic nature of global uncertainties makes it a necessity for the innovators of the future to ideate, experiment and invest (both time and skills) into upgrading the existing ways and means of human cultural interactions into a more enquiry driven approach of the reality.
