The Leo Project

The Leo Project envisions a world where equitable access to education and healthcare are recognized and realized as human rights. In pursuit of that vision, we design, deliver, and sustain education and healthcare programs that drive social change across Kenya. In Laikipia County, Kenya, The Leo Project delivers direct healthcare services and runs transformative health and education programs. Our education initiatives provide students with instruction in digital literacy, climate and conservation, mental health, and sexual and reproductive health. The Leo Project’s health programming operates out of The Caitlin O’Hara Community Health Clinic. It delivers essential services and programs in maternal, newborn, and child health, mental health, oncology, and nutrition. The clinic’s all-Kenyan staff also trains local health workers to extend the reach and sustainability of the highest-quality care. Following a comprehensive needs assessment, The Leo Project is building a first of its kind maternity and oncology in-patient hospital adjacent to the health clinic. The Leo Project is a U.S-registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization operating as a Community Based Organization in Nanyuki, Kenya.
