The Marie Trust

The Marie Trust is a front line homeless charity in Glasgow providing an immediate response to the challenges homeless and people at risk of homelessness experience through the provision of a: Crisis Intervention Service Pharmacy Service Health and Wellbeing Service Education Service Volunteering Project Counselling Services Not for Profit Cafe. We provide no referral access to the service removing significant barriers to accessing services particularly for individuals with complex and multiple needs such as mental ill-health, substance dependence, and offending behaviour. We will continue to work with people who are still using alcohol or substances through our commitment to recovery and rehabilitation and supporting people through their journey at a pace that is led by them. We are a placement provider for people coming through the criminal justice system and provide placements to prisoners to support their transition into the community and who are often homeless on release. Throughout the pandemic, we adapted and have continued to deliver our services to ensure that people receive face to face support from the beginning of the lockdown period and remained open and accessible throughout the pandemic, with no appointment required for homeless and vulnerable people to present, see a worker face to face for a crisis, pharmacy, and food provision. Our focus was to ensure our services were not disrupted and for people in need to be able to access the support they needed within this crisis.
