The Project is a Christ-focused social justice organisation that was launched on 7 February 2018. The organisation is registered as a Non-Profit Organisation and bears the registration number 256-474 NPO. The Matthew 25 Project Village is located in Cloverdene, Benoni, Gauteng, and serves its local communities, focusing on meeting the basic needs of families in dire need, such as the need to eat, to be clothed, have dignity and to be educated. The name of the Project is based on the book and chapter in the bible, Matthew 25, more specially verse 40 which reads:"Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me"(Matthew 25:40). Our primary geographical focus is the N12 informal settlement, as well as various extensions of Chief Albert Luthuli and Mayfield.
