We were interested in motorcycle adventure riding (ADVRider) and decided to combine our passions by starting a 26 month (A)dventure-(R)esearch tour. The tour would have us travel through 16 countries by motorcycles investigating business process improvements. We designed a research protocol for inquiring into what kind of operational improvement methodologies companies were using throughout the Americas. It was incredible because we connected with interesting business owners and executives, large/small, in every country we visited and learned about great people, culture, and business. Some of our best experiences came from meeting those people in such an interesting way. We traded (A)dvising on process improvements for their contributions to our (R)esearch and made several key (i)nvestments during the (A)dventure.
