At The Mind Field we offer support to those who spend their lives supporting others. Life in the aid and development world can be stressful in so many ways - we have been there. You are working a long way from home. You may have witnessed trauma and suffering and felt helpless in the face of it. You may feel isolated and lonely, missing your family, feeling the effects of burnout, anxiety or insomnia. Your relationships may be suffering from the effects of long separations and it may be hard to remember why you started doing this kind of work in the first place. The hardships endured and witnessed can often feel overwhelming and your inability to make a significant impact on the situations you experience can easily lead to feeling jaded, disillusioned or angry. On top of all that, and contrary to expectation, the work can also be frustrating and bureaucratic. We understand firsthand how difficult and complex life in development can feel and we are here to give you a safe space to talk these things through. Skype, video or even email therapy creates a neutral and highly confidential setting in which to work through your issues and anxieties without the need to remain in one country for the duration of your therapy or even to travel to and from your therapist's consulting rooms.
