The New Potato Studios

The New Potato is a creative agency and production house founded by sisters Danielle and Laura Kosann. We've produced the soon-to-be-released feature film The Social Ones (winner of The Audience Award for Best Comedy Feature at Cinequest), comedy shorts that have been featured on both Access Hollywood and The Today Show and campaigns for brands such as Club Monaco, Kate Spade and Instyle. Our most recent feature film production - The Social Ones - is a mockumentary about social media written and directed by Laura Kosann, starring Richard Kind, Jackie Hoffman, Stephanie March, Debra Jo Rupp and Peter Scolari. The madcap comedy - in the style of Christopher Guest - follows a print magazine dedicated to following the lives of social media celebrities. The magazine pulls together some of the biggest stars for its its annual cover shoot: a Meme God at his peak, a Snapchat teeny-bopper addicted to stunts, a food Youtuber who will put an egg on just about anything if it means engagements, an eccentric fashion blogger willing to go to drastic lengths for a perfect #nofilter shot, and a Facebook vlogger obsessed with dressing animals up in costumes. The film takes you inside the lives of these ‘social ones': What’s the one thing they all have in common? Social media anxiety disorder.
