The Prakarsa

The PRAKARSA - Welfare Initiative for Better Societies - is NGO-based think-tank was created on August 31st 2004 and is legally registered with the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights of Republic of Indonesia. The PRAKARSA works to nurture and enhance welfare ideas and actions through independent rigorous research and active engagement to stakeholder in order to create social justice and prosperous society. We combine research with policy analysis, engagement and communication capability to turn ideas into actions. We have done research, analysis and capacity building of a wide range of topics related to welfare issues. We work with government, parliament, CSOs, universities, international organizations, private sector and mass media to bring ideas into initiatives and actions. We are supported by experts and intellectuals who have formidable reputation in academic or policy circles to produce innovative research and analysis for proposing specific and practical ideas for actions. Our major concern and expertise include- Social Policy: Social Security | Poverty | Inequality | etc - Fiscal and Economic Policy: Tax | Non-Tax | State Budget | etc - Sustainable Development: Green Banking | Responsible Investment | SDGs | etc The PRAKARSA has a good relationship with national/local government and parliament, universities and research institutions in Indonesia and abroad, CSOs (national, local and international), private sector, embassies, international organizations, etc
