The Purple Janus

Like the Roman god Janus, effective change management has two faces, looking to the past and the future - as two distinct components united in the process of transition. This duality in approach ensures a change that builds on everything that’s been achieved till now, to produce bold, ambitious and exciting results in the future. The colour purple also represents my working style; being associated with a calm, supportive style that also has energy, determination and depth. I have built extensive experience in designing and delivering change projects, spanning from small-scale solutions to national programmes of work and change campaigns, in a variety of settings, including healthcare services, local authority, grassroots community organisations and international NGOs. Most recently I designed an award-winning national quality improvement programme in paediatric diabetes and a scale-up project for innovative patient safety interventions. I specialise in evidence-based situational analysis, vision setting and strategy design, stakeholder analysis and management and strategic communications. I place a particular focus on creating a change-ready and adaptive organisational culture – developing the right mindsets, skills, relationships and processes. I am an accredited APM change management practitioner with a career spanning over the last 10 years. I have extensive experience in project management (PRINCE2) methodology, theory of change and science of improvement.
