The Reason Group

The Reason Group Inc. has set its sights on responding to a lack of effective public sector programs in the community. The mission is to build a stronger community by improving education, health, safety and economic security for low-income individuals and families. Elephant in the Room" is a metaphorical idiom for an obvious problem or risk no one wants to discuss, or a condition of group think no one wants to challenge. It is based on the idea/thought that something as conspicuous as an elephant can appear to be overlooked in codified social interactions, and that the sociology/psychology of repression also operates on the macro scale. Therefore, The Reason Group Inc. has let the elephant out the room by providing the necessary tools, resources and support that allow people to Help Themselves by, first acknowledging that the issue does exists, followed by implementation of services that directly address the issue, and lastly providing support for those who want to better their lives.
