The Recycle Studio are material designers transforming Costa Rica’s waste plastics into sheet materials for design. Our mission is simple: make head-turning materials that challenge perceptions on waste. With sheets containing up to 28 kilos of 100% recycled plastic in a variety of thicknesses and designs, we offer architects and designers high-quality, aesthetic materials that embody the narrative of circularity. Since day one, we’ve been committed to creating our business for a circular economy - every decision we have taken has been based on the impact on our local environment. Our manufacturing processes are powered by renewable energy from Costa Rica’s electricity grid. We focussed and continue to focus our R&D on developing materials from plastics with the lowest local recycling rate. All our production waste is repurposed by us or by our partners. But most importantly, our core motivation is this: make it good, make it last and make it recyclable. It’s our promise - our non-negotiable. Design for a circular economy is already the next big thing - and we’re excited to be a part of it.
