The Rescue Hotel

The Rescue Hotel is a volunteer run organisation working with Cardiff Dog's Home which gained its charitable status in April 2020. Our story started in 2019 after a group of volunteers held a fundraising event for a wonderful Shar Pei called Bruno. He had been in Cardiff Dog's Home for many months and badly needed a Total Ear Canal Ablation (TECA) surgery on both ears. As Cardiff Dogs Home is council run, paying thousands of pounds for Bruno's operation simply was not possible. Similarly, it was difficult to rehome Bruno as whoever adopted him would need to take on that financial responsibility. However, Bruno could not be left to suffer and after the success of his fundraising event, The Rescue Hotel was born. Since Bruno, The Rescue Hotel have fundraised to cover the health care costs of many more dogs that find themselves in Cardiff Dog's Home. Such care takes place in our very own practice, The Rescue Hotel Health Centre which was established in 2021. The Rescue Hotel Health Centre not only attends to the dogs in Cardiff Dogs Home but also provides more affordable veterinary care to members of the public. With your support, our goal is to do everything we can to ensure that all dogs who check into the hotel are as happy and healthy as can be.
