The Sderot Foundation

Sderot is a city located within Israel’s periphery, on the border with Gaza. This southern Israeli community has welcomed immigrants from North Africa, the Former Soviet Union and Ethiopia. Sadly, it is currently most notable for being the target of an endless barrage of Qassam rockets from the Gaza Strip. Sderot’s citizens have only 15 seconds to take cover before a rocket hits! And yet, despite being under fire for almost two decades, Sderot continues to grow and find solutions that allow it to thrive under fire. The Sderot Foundation was established in 2010. The Foundation raises funds and develop initiatives in the fields of welfare, education, employment, culture, tourism, environment and community building for the benefit of the city’s multi-cultural population. Our efforts support civilian resilience, improve quality of life for residents and attract new populations to the city.
