Layoffs, temporary contracts, and bad onboarding experiences, to name a few. Each leading to another frustrating bout of job search. It all felt like a never-ending, soul-crushing game. It shouldn’t be this hard, The Shaped Marketer thought. As fortune had it, a chance encounter with the Mystic revealed forgotten truths. “Just be you, tell your story, and keep it simple,” the Mystic said. Inspired that this might actually be a way to cut through the noise, The Shaped Marketer tried it out. The job search quickly became a game of clarity and confidence rather than one of confusion and doubt. And oh, how empowering it felt to be true to oneself. The Mystic was right, The Shaped Marketer thought. Your story is your strategy. Much preferring to help other professionals do the same, The Shaped Marketer stepped away from the proverbial rat race and embodied a new path. In collaboration with the Mystic, they built a simple tool to help others reveal their career story, how to creatively position it, and how to message it out across touchpoints. They even wrote a book about it called the 'Field Guide to the New Job Market'.
