The Sole Theory

We are a footwear development consultancy based in Sweden specialising in footwear and accessories. The Sole Theory was established in 2019 by Chris Margetts an experienced footwear developer who had previously worked in many coveted roles in the UK including Buying & Design Manager for Kurt Geiger responsible for all private label and licensed footwear development. Since 2019 The Sole Theory has been working with many leading brands to develop their footwear collections and in particular helping them to develop more sustainable products with responsible sourcing. The Sole Theory also launched their own vegan sustainable brand called ‘Humans Are Vain’ which is now recognised the world over for combining circular design with sustainable and innovative materials. We also collaborate with innovation hubs on various sustainable projects as well as pioneering the development of our own innovative materials and production methods such as 3D printing footwear from recycled textile waste.
