The South Indian, Danmarks første sydindiske restaurant, åbnede i januar 2015 på Godthåbsvej 12, Frederiksberg. Vores idé er en indisk restaurant af meget høj kvalitet – dét savner København. Chettinad er en holdning til mad. Et indisk ord for ‘mesterkok’. Og et levende, historisk handelsområde i det sydlige Indien. Chettinad Køkkenet er aromatisk og krydret. Det er berømt for brugen af mange forskellige krydderier i tilberedningen af maden, særligt kød, fisk og kylling. Chettinads holdning til mad har sin oprindelse i den lille by Nedungudi, cirka 600 km syd for multimillionbyen Chennai, Indiens fjerdestørste by, tidligere kendt som Madras.
