The Stowehof is one of the most storied and notable of Vermont’s classic Alpine hotels. Surrounded by 26 acres and offering sweeping alpine vistas and unforgettable ambiance, The Stowehof provides an experience unlike any other in Vermont. Our comfortable and atmospheric guest rooms preserve the quirky intent of the architect, Larry Hess. No two rooms are identical – some are grand, some cozy, and many feature wide-open mountain views. The iconic architecture and expansive grounds provide the perfect setting for easy conviviality. Play cards in one of our game nooks, shoot pool with friends, read a book by one of several fireplaces in the expansive Lounge, roast marshmallows at the fire pit, play tennis, stroll through the rolling meadows, and relax by the pool in the summer. Breakfast is offered daily in our mountain view Mansfield Room, and in the evenings Fritz Bar offers a casual Vermont-Bavarian menu featuring locally sourced foods, beers and spirits.
