The Suicide Bridge Project

The Suicide Bridge Project (TSBP) is a 501c3 nonprofit located in Phoenix, Arizona. Founded by Jake Ricker, TSBP is on a mission to create a world where fewer lives are lost to suicide. 12.2 million American adults seriously considered suicide in 2020. Jake experienced this first-hand while photographing the Golden Gate Bridge when he saw someone step out of the crowd and climb over the railing. Jake walked over and talked with him for several minutes while bridge patrol was on the way. He’s walked the bridge ever since, supporting more than 80 saves. In 2022, Missional Marketing, a marketing technology firm based in Phoenix, became a TSBP strategic partner. Combining Jake’s ground experience with Missional Marketing’s technological capabilities, TSBP aims to go up-funnel in the suicide search lifecycle in a way that enables local non-profits and organizations to reach a wider audience to save more lives. TSBP looks to drive change through programs and services that identify, intervene, and advocate. He is part of a six-member Board of Directors that brings decades of experience in business strategy, entrepreneurship, technology, search marketing, program management, community engagement, user experience, and financial strategy. An Advisory Board provides context and guidance related to engineering, fundraising, and suicide prevention trends. Jake Ricker’s unique experiences from five-plus years spent walking the Golden Gate Bridge supporting those in crisis sets TSBP apart from other suicide prevention organizations.
