The Summit Fm

WAPS "The Summit FM" is a musically adventurous, community-focused, listener-supported public radio station. The radio station and streaming services are heard in Akron at 91.3FM, Youngstown at 90.7FM, and Athens, Ohio, at 90.1FM. The Summit FM also produces -"The 330"- the past, present, and future of music in Northeast Ohio. Our Summit Next program gets back to the roots of The Summit FM serving as a “radio classroom” by collaborating with Akron, Athens, and Struthers public school students in a meaningful way. The program provides structured, project-based learning opportunities for middle school and high school students. Programming is standards-based, student-led, and empowers youth to research, create, and produce content and assets to be used on-air and online. Students are primarily responsible for The Summit FM’s “The 330” station which features the past, present, and future of Northeast Ohio music. The Summit FM is proud to give back to our listening communities. We've created two scholarship funds, exclusively for seniors preparing to attend college post-graduation.
