The Umpire School

The Umpire School will improve the skills of any umpire regardless of past experience. In-depth examination of professional rules, mechanics for the two umpire system, plate work along with the technical and practical on-field aspects of professional umpiring will be covered. During the 28 day (4 week) course, The Umpire School student will receive 216 hours of instruction (96 Classroom and 120 Field/Cage). Graduates will be evaluated as to their potential for a career in Professional Baseball or placement into other levels of baseball. The members of the Professional Baseball Umpire Corp. trained in the latest techniques will guide you through the most comprehensive and rewarding experience of your career. Our mission is to fully develop the potential of each student by enabling them to acquire the rules knowledge, technical skills, and professional demeanor that are needed to achieve their fullest personal and professional aspirations. This potential will be developed in a positive, structured and challenging environment that reflects the values and reputation of a professional baseball umpire. Your core Instruction Staff has over 150 years of experience in Professional Baseball including at the Major League level.
