A brief saunter down leafy Bayswater Rd in Sydney’s Kings Cross will soon bring you to No. 24, an historic four storey Victorian terrace. Home to countless legends, curiosities, and varied debauchery over the last century. The grand old building was an extravagant whore-house, a gambling den, the offices of INXS, and today it stands transformed as Sydney’s most charismatic bar and nightclub experience – that preferred palace of perennial partying, The World Bar. Our maze of rooms, booths, stairwells and hidden areas is open for exploration 7 days and nights a week, accented by an expansive outdoor terrace garden. A wide range of clientele enjoy an eclectic mash of entertainment - local indie bands ply their noisy craft in Parisian-inspired nooks; international DJs push cutting-edge club sounds in a NY-style underground nightclub; young artists exhibit their work in an upstairs gallery room that later becomes a rave-cave. Hipsters, clubkids, travelers and locals - people of all ages and walks of life - make up the thousands who cross our threshold weekly. In a matter of hours, a space populated by civilised sippers enjoying a cab sav and a gourmet pizza early evening evolves to become a surging mass of dancefloor sexiness and stays that way til sun-up.
