The Writing Partnership

The Writing Partnership is a 501(c)(3) created as a bridge between Siena College students and the high-school aged portion of the Burmese/Karen refugee community in Albany, NY. Having started as a service club in conjunction with a First-Year Seminar, The Writing Partnership has grown to include weekly sessions where the students and Siena students work with their partners one-on-one during dinner, writing activities, and homework help, as well as sponsoring 40 students to attend a local private high school. The Writing Partnership also recently began a High School Completion program to help students who have aged out of the traditional high school system complete their education online, and have helped students apply and transition into college. Our mission as a diverse connected community is to inspire and engage by supporting access to educational resources and leadership development. We strive to empower underserved populations through developing our network chapters worldwide to ensure a culturally diverse future.
