Designing for startups? I work with startups either just starting out or recently have just begun. I Lend a hand with their design work. So looking at the logo, building the brand, and designing any marketing material needed offline or online to support the business. With a nicely designed business looking professional will hopefully bring awareness and traction to that business faster. I sit down with that client at the beginning find out what is needed and put together a final cost and for those starting out with limited budgets this is then spread over months on a payment plan This way good design is affordable to all and not something that gets added to a 'do it later' list when you can afford it. Got a business that has been going for a few years already? For those businesses that are growing maybe you have a demand for ongoing design support something that is needed but not at a stage to hire someone in-house to do, more than happy to lend a hand, Could be its a couple of hours a week on social graphics. Creating fresh graphics to support the current marketing campaign. Or thinking about future brochures / marketing material that is needed. I have a rich history of supporting businesses this way working within existing brand guidelines so it's on brand, but still adding my design style to it.
