Pediatric occupational and physical therapy in Dallas, TX. We offer one on one therapy and classes for fine motor, gross motor, coordination, handwriting, and typing. We serve a variety of diagnoses including, but not limited to developmental delays, autism, behavioral issues, chromosomal anomalies, neurological diagnoses Dalton Smith began Therapeutic Movements in September of 2011. She had a passion for working with special needs children and their families. Dalton's own children were finally all in school, and she decided now was the time to pursue the dream of building her own practice of an outpatient pediatric clinic. Dalton Smith has been practicing occupational therapy for 17 years. She has a masters in occupational therapy from Texas Woman's University and a Bachelors from Southern Methodist University. Dalton has a love for working with special needs children and their families, as well as with adults attempting to regain strength and abilities following neurological or orthopedic injuries to help them return to the activities meaningful to them in their lives. Dalton is certified in the Handwriting Without Tears programs, for both pre-schoolers and school-aged children and Vital-Stim therapy for dysphagia/swallowing treatment. Dalton has received additional training in sensory integration, vestibular rehabilitation, sensory based handwriting instruction, therapeutic taping, developmental orthopedics, behavioral feeding, oral-motor/oral-motor sensory development, learning differences, mindfulness training for kids and teens, behavioral challenges, neurological rehabilitation, and rotator cuff injury.
