Thermaspray offers a full range of thermal spray coatings, Plasma Transferred Arc (PTA), laser cladding, finishing, grinding, machining and burnishing services to customers throughout South Africa. Thermaspray is also the official supplier and applicator of Teflon™ coatings in Southern Africa. The company was established following the commercialisation of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research’s (CSIR’s) Thermal Spray and Repair Group. During the late 1990s, our development and use of technology, innovation and people was acknowledged by Technology Top 100 earning us inclusion on their Roll of Honour. Thermaspray's plant and machinery include two overhead cranes with 2.5 ton and 6 ton capacities; part handling manipulators; 5 spray booths and 1 laser cladding booth with 6-axis robotic gun manipulation - and 2-metre swing, top-loading turntables capable of rotating components with a wide variety of sizes and weights of up to 2-tons.
