Thessaloniki Java User Group (JUG) is, as any other JUG, a local community of Java users who get together to share information, resources, and solutions and to network together. Thessaloniki's Java User Group, established on May 2007 from George Eleftherakis, main focus is providing a platform where anyone from Northern Greece and from Southeastern Europe (SEE) who has an interest in Java can get together and share their experience and expertise. It will organise many seminars and workshops but mainly a biannual conference that will be organised in Thessaloniki every second time and the other in other interested parties from the SEE area. It will aim also to strengthen the Java community in SEE by providing an environment where our members can share their knowledge and promote the use of Java in SEE. That is why the main language we will use is English, but effort will be made for a newsletter and a website supporting as many as possible languages of the area. Thessaloniki Java User Group (JUG) has as a main aim to disseminate Java-related knowledge to the region. It is meant to provide a platform for Java enthousiasts to share knowledge but also resources and solutions, increase networking, expand Java Technology expertise, and above all, drink frappe, beer and have fun! Thessaloniki JUG is totally based on volunteer work and sponsors. So, if you are a person that likes to share and help others and of course you are a Java enthousiast, you've come to the right place!
