This is an initiative started by two students - Tara Hebbar and Diya Barmecha in 2020, when there was a worldwide crisis. This crisis made us aware of our privilege, after seeing the deterioration of the lives of so many others. Hence, we decided we wanted to create change by using our privilege to assist those who are not as lucky as we are. The lockdown also made us realise the importance of certain skills in real life application, one of which was critical thinking. Critical thinking by definition is the ‘analysis of facts to form a judgment’. Although, at face value, It might not seem important, most of us are constantly exercising this skill. Whether it is the street, in a store or while on a holiday, there are rarely times where critical thinking as a skill has not proved to be a worthy asset. While many of us are fortunate enough to go to schools where the future and thinking critically are priorities, there are many underprivileged children who are distanced from this. As we become older, and have to walk further into the reality of the world, skills such as critical thinking and logical analysis are indubitably essential. Each and every school day should make students think outside the box. It was a concern for us, that underprivileged students had little to no access or ability to do this. There is a serious deficit of these skills amongst the underprivileged, they struggle to do simple things like recognising signs or understanding finance and money. Our goal is to ensure that we expose students to skills that will help them be aware and competent citizens. This will not only help them excel academically but additionally allow them to walk into real life situations, with the confidence that they can deal with any possible scenario that they may face. We strive to introduce an extra dimension to the thinking process of students. To do this, we partner up with established organizations and NGOs to implement our curriculum.
