Third Belgrade Grammar School

Third Belgrade Grammar School is one of the most prestigious Serbian high schools. It has the lowest acceptance rate in the country and a very high proportion of former students attending best European universities. It was founded in 1859. Students' Parliament of the Third Belgrade Grammar School is among most active student organisations in Serbia. Because of its historical value, the school building, which was built in 1906, was declared a cultural monument in 1964. This high school had a special role in the development of education in Belgrade, both as an educational institution and in architectural sense as a functional space organized according to the current European principles. A number of eminent Serbs attended this high school, such as Todor Mijušković, Stevan Sremac, Vladimir Titelbah, Nikola Vulić, Simo Matavulj, Živojin Mišić, Marko Murat, Borislav Pekić, Dragoljub Mihailović, etc.
