This Project

THIS Project is a not-for-profit partnership between Creative Entrepreneur Dave Gray and emerging young artist Mike Jones. Formerly part of a not-for-profit arm of a limited company, THIS was established as an independent organisation in June this year. Working in collaboration with a range of partners, THIS Project aims to: • Promote the grass-roots arts community • Create opportunities to support emerging artists and community arts organisations • Conceive original arts activity to engage with emerging artists, arts organisations, businesses, governmental and educational institutions and the general public, with a focus on increasing participation in, and access to, the arts Our manifesto states: THIS Project is a partnership and a social enterprise. We do this because we want to earn money from doing what we love, and because we care deeply about our town and we are personally committed to working with the creative community that exists here. All proceeds raised by THIS Project, go back into making more things happen in the future, and no profits are made. We believe that the arts and culture can make this town and the world a better place, and that it is important to establish communities in which the spirit of creativity can flourish. We will strive to make links with other communities and artists throughout Wales, the UK and around the World to help our own community learn and develop, while taking what we create here out to a wider audience, both here in Wrexham, and away from home. We feel that we can make a difference through our own personal efforts but recognise that we can’t do this alone but by working closely with other individuals, groups and organisations who feel the same way. By working together in this way, being inclusive, and open to new ideas, we hope to make a positive change to the community and society in which we live.
