Thomas Coulborn & Sons is run by Jonathan Coulborn, the grandson of the founder. Jonathan spent a number of years working for Sothebys in Sussex, London and Madrid before returning to the family business in He served as Chairman of the BADA for two years from 2011 until 2013, having been Chairman of Vetting at the BADA Fair and Chairman of the Fair from 2009-2011. He continues to serve on the BADA Council and remains a Director of the BADA Fair. We have exhibited at the BADA Fair since 2005. In 2009, we exhibited at the 75th and final Grosvenor House Antiques Fair where we were delighted to win the Gold Medal for Object of the Year, and have exhibited annually at Masterpiece since 2010 and we exhibited at The International Fine Art & Antique Dealers Show in New York from 2011 until 2013. In January 2015, we began exhibiting at the Winter Antiques Show in New York. Jonathan has lectured on Furniture History in the UK and in Spain, and is proud to count several international museums amongst our valued clientele. In recent years, we have made a number of significant sales to institutions and individuals worldwide, including our George II Scarlet and Gilt-japanned Secretaire Cabinet, acquired by The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in 2013; and ‘The Crouching Venus’ by John Nost the Elder, purchased by the V&A in 2012.
