Thomas Dixon Centre
Starting its life as a shoe factory in 1908 and now, home to the Queensland Ballet since 1991, the newly refurbished Thomas Dixon Centre is Brisbane’s newest arts and cultural precinct. Featuring a state-of-the-art 353-seat theatre, café, rooftop terrace, stunning public art, and multiple function spaces as well as dance studios, a wardrobe workshop, and arts workers’ spaces the Thomas Dixon Centre is a hub that fosters cross-pollination of creativity, innovation and ideas between artists, dancers, and visitors from all walks of life. We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and perform. Long before we performed on this land, it played host to the dance expression of our First Peoples. We pay our respects to their Elders — past, present, and emerging — and acknowledge the valuable contribution they have made and continue to make to the cultural landscape of this country.
