Thomasville Humane

The Thomasville Humane Society is the largest non-profit animal welfare organization in Thomasville, GA, Thomas County, and southeastern Georgia. Our animal shelter provides a temporary home and services to abandoned, homeless, lost, and abused pets. A group of local animal welfare advocates founded and incorporated our Thomasville animal shelter in 1970. Today, we carry on their mission and are committed to ensuring the humane care of the animals in partnership with our community. Because we are independent, we rely on individual contributions, grants, and fundraising efforts. Beyond monetary contributions, the Thomasville Humane Society also relies on volunteers to continue serving the community. Thanks to the support of our community, we help thousands of animals every year. Because of the community’s help, we have prevented animals from being euthanized and instead helped them find good, loving homes. We work hard to be the area’s leading advocate for animal welfare. THS received its exemption from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code in January 1978 and maintains registration as a Charitable Organization in Georgia through the Secretary of State, Professional Licensing Boards and Securities Division.
