HIRE YOUR NEXT SUPERSTAR OR REACH YOUR CAREER POTENTIAL If you are ready for a change in your career, here is how you find that next great position: 1) Identify what is the driving force behind your desire to leave, whether that be money, promotion, bad working environment, etc. 2) Find someone well networked in your industry or targeted company and use that connection to introduce you to the Decision Makers. 3) Be willing to accept a “Fair” offer, go for “Pie in the Sky” but realize the Hiring Company is taking a lot of the risk and they would rather reward you after you show what you can do, especially if you are changing industries. If you have lost a “Star” on your team: 1) Do not depend on Job Boards alone. The likelihood of you finding the right mix of skills and personality is tough enough as it is. You will see a lot of responses from your local area which will be a waste of time. Chances are, your next hire is not surfing Job Boards, in your area, if he/she do not live there. 2) Partner with someone in your industry who can reach those who are not scouring the Job Boards. This person can present your story and they are likely not interviewing other places, so there may be less competition for that candidate. 3) This partner can also vet the candidates for fit, well before you ever see their resume, so your time is not wasted interviewing, it can be spent making money for your company.
