Tim Street-Porter Studio

Tim Street-Porter lives and works in Los Angeles. After studying architecture in London he switched to photography, with Norman Foster as a regular early client. When he moved to Los Angeles in 1980, he started to work for a variety of architects, designers, and magazines. He has published 8 books as author/photographer including Freestyle, the New Architecture and Design of Los Angeles (1986) and Casa Mexicana (1989), both published by Stewart Tabori and Chang. More recently he has worked with Rizzoli, producing the limited edition Los Angeles, LA Modern, and Palm Springs: A Modernist Paradise. He has also photographed a series of 6 Rizzoli books produced by his designer/writer wife Annie Kelly, including Splash: The Art of the Swimming Pool. He is the principal photographer on books on leading designers, including Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Rose Tarlow, Robert Couturier, Nancy Goslee Power and the Santa Monica Strick house by Oscar Niemeyer. He has won various awards including the British Daniel Katz Award for Architectural Photography (1993), and the Lucie Award for Architectural Photography (2003). His client list includes Benedikt Taschen, Smallbone Kitchens, the Standard and the Chateau Marmont Hotels, the Rockwell Group, James Corner Field Operations, World of Interiors, and Architectural Digest. Museum photography includes the Huntington Gardens and the Norton Simon Museum.
