Tim Young is rightly proud of his lengthy connection to the Greater Shankill that stretches over four generations. He has recently opened his own independent opticians at 156 Shankill Road. With a mission to provide great eyecare, great offers and the latest looks for all Tim commented, ‘I have always been aware of the importance of eyecare as my grandfather lost his sight as a young man. I attended primary school in the Greater Shankill and then moved on to Belfast Boys’ Model School. It was during my time at the Boys’ Model I knew I wanted to be an optometrist and I’m delighted to now have my own practice right here in the heart of the Shankill. I look back with a real sense of gratitude for the support and outstanding opportunities afforded to me at these great local schools and by local people.” A supporter of, and advocate for the Greater Shankill’s Shop Local, Support Local Campaign he has employed local businesses in every aspect of the set up and servicing of his new practice. Joining Tim at his new practice is Lisa who has 30 years experience, great optical knowledge, expert advice and a friendly approach to customers.
